Music In The Valley 2010-2011 Season

The first concert will feature the highly acclaimed Monument Piano Trio including violinist, Igor

Youzefovich; cellist, Dariusz Skoraczewski;, and pianist, Michael Sheppard. They return to open

our first concert for the second time. Noted for their extraordinary talent, energy, and interpretive

depth, it is our privilege to hear them again.

The Canticle Singers, a very popular all women’s choir, present a program of sacred to popular

Christmas music, followed by a rousing holiday song fest for all, enhanced by the Canticles’

beautiful voices.

We are delighted to present for the first time the Mendelssohn Trio, three very talented young

musicians: pianist, Ya-Ting Chang; violinist, Peter Sirotin; and cellist, Fiona Thompson. The

Washington Post described their playing as “transcendent” and “ unfathomably beautiful”.

Under the auspices of the Baltimore chapter of the American Guild of Organists we bring to St.

John’s a very special young talent, Victor Li, a Peabody organ student and winner of the Baltimore

Chapter’s prestigious Organ Competition.

May 2011 Date and time to be announced

On a Sunday in May we will have our closing concert, one that always is a special treat, an evening

with Jon Carney and Friends sharing with us rare talent and glorious music.

A bountiful reception with the artists follows all concerts. It is a fine evening out.
