A little higher temperature, a lot of warmth,
a great adventure!
Join us in Haiti in January!
As has been our custom, Stephen and I will travel to Haiti for a week in January ( 2010) and invite any interested parishioners to join us. We will leave on January 13th and return on the 20th. While there we will visit several ministry sites in Port-au-Prince, including Holy Trinity Music School and St. Vincent’s Hospital for Crippled Children. We will also travel to the countryside and meet with parishioners at St. Etienne’s and with the leaders of the Youth Group there who are working with our youth on reforestation. Their youth want to get our help setting up a computer room. We’ll have a chance to see some of the work of the local farmer’s cooperative with a Women’s Loan Program, a Goat Project and Coffee Project. Construction on a new church building is entering its second phase and we’ll survey the progress. Haiti is a land of many ironies. So much natural beauty amidst so much poverty. Gentle spirits in people living lives with great hardship. It is a privilege to experience a week with others from the parish in a land rich in hope. It inspires us for the year. Let us know if you can join us. Tracy
